On Saturday 16 June Parkway Shopping launched their campaign to support Newbury in Bloom.
Parkway have made an extra effort to get involved this year by planting even more attractive floral displays which will enhance the town, and they will continue to work with Newbury in Bloom to improve the prospects of our Britain in Bloom entry in 2019.
The Royal Horticultural Society’s Britain in Bloom campaign is Britain's nationwide and longest running gardening competition. It provides a regional and nationwide platform for community groups to brighten up their own town or city.
Parkway Shopping are keen to support the initiative and Andrew Marmot, Parkway’s Centre Manager, said, “Beautiful flowers and their bright colourful blooms are an essential part of the summer environment of a traditional Market Town. Parkway is delighted to be taking part in Newbury in Bloom and we hope that our visitors enjoy our planting, grass piazzas and relax in our deck chairs all summer long. “
Cllr Sarah Greenall, Chair of the Newbury in Bloom Working Group was pleased with the feedback on the day, saying, “We have had a number of people enquiring about entering the competition and also a lot of interest with Britain in Bloom. We are excited about the future of both campaigns in Newbury and would like to thank Parkway Shopping for their support for our campaign today and in the future.”
