VOLUNTEERS WANTED FOR SPRING BULB PLANTING!

On 4 November 2023 Newbury Town Council are asking the community to come along and help to plant 3000 spring bulbs at the Nightingales in Newbury. The bulbs will be planted on sections of land opposite the Willows School, the bank alongside The Nightingales and an area between Pyle Hill and Austen Gardens.

The bulbs will be traditional spring flowers, including tulips, daffodils and crocuses.

Cllr Gary Norman, Leader of the Council said, “We are inviting local residents to help plant the bulbs and come and take part in this community event. In the Spring, the beautiful display of colourful flowers will further enhance Newbury’s open spaces for everyone. Newbury Town Council are sponsoring this event for the Community to enjoy in the future.”

If you would like to help plant the bulbs, we are asking volunteers to come along between 10am and 1pm (or until it’s all done!), meeting outside the Greenham Community Centre at 10am.

Bring a trowel and some gloves if you have them, but if not, there’ll be some on the day you can borrow.
