NEWBURY’S 20TH BLUE PLAQUE TO HONOUR FRANCE BELK AND HER LASTING CULTURAL LEGACY

Newbury Town Council will unveil its 20th blue plaque in honour of France Belk (1897–1976), a remarkable figure who played a pivotal role in shaping amateur dramatics and dance in the town. The unveiling will take place at 11am on Monday 21st July 2025 at Chilis Restaurant on Station Approach, the former site of the Newbury School of Dancing and Dramatic Art.

ROYAL ENGINEERS TO PARADE THROUGH NEWBURY ON SATURDAY 28 JUNE

Newbury will proudly host a ceremonial Armed Forces Day parade by the Corps of Royal Engineers on Saturday 28th June as they exercise their Freedom of the Town with a traditional march, to celebrate the 200th anniversaries of three of the Regular squadrons from 42 Engineer Regiment (Geographic).
