£10,000 IN GRANTS AVAILABLE FOR LOCAL CLIMATE ACTION PROJECTS!
Local environmental groups in Newbury now have the chance to bring their green projects to life with support from Newbury Town Council’s Climate Emergency Grant Fund.
The Council has set aside £10,000 to help fund community projects that cut CO₂ emissions and take meaningful action against climate change — and there’s still around £7,000 available for this year’s applications!
From energy-saving improvements in community buildings to local nature-based solutions, the grants aim to empower community organisations to make a real difference in reducing Newbury’s carbon footprint.
Cllr David Harman, Chair of the Council’s Climate Change Emergency Sub-Committee said, “Tackling the climate emergency is at the heart of our Town Council Strategy. We’re encouraging local groups to step forward with innovative ideas that help lower emissions and create a more sustainable future for Newbury. These grants are designed to support community-led projects that will have a lasting, positive impact.”
Eligible community groups can find full details — including application forms and criteria — on the Council’s website: https://www.newbury.gov.uk/the-council/climate-emergency-grant-aid-application-form/
Applications close on Wednesday 31 December 2025 — so don’t miss your chance to make a difference!
