NEWBURY MARKET'S FIRST-EVER PET DAY PROVES A PAW-SOME SUCCESS

Newbury Market welcomed visitors and their four-legged friends to its very first Pet Day on Saturday, with the Market Place filled with wagging tails, happy owners and plenty of community spirit.

The event attracted pet lovers from across the area. Visitors had the opportunity to meet representatives from the Dogs Trust and Cats Protection, who were on hand throughout the day to offer advice and information on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.

One of the highlights of the event was the free professional pet photography sessions, which proved extremely popular, giving owners the chance to capture a lasting memory of their beloved pets.

The Deputy Mayor of Newbury, Councillor Sarah Slack, visited the event, meeting traders, chatting with visitors and, of course, making plenty of new four-legged friends.

Cllr Slack said, "It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying our first Pet Day at Newbury Market. The atmosphere was fantastic, and it was a real pleasure to meet our market traders, the animal welfare charities and so many friendly dogs throughout the morning. Events like this are a great way to bring our community together while supporting our local market."
