NEWBURY TOWN COUNCIL INVITES YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS TO TRADE AT YOUNG TRADERS MARKET
Newbury Town Council is calling on young entrepreneurs to take part in a special Young Traders Market taking place in the Market Place on Saturday 30 May together with our regular Market stalls.
The event is being organised in partnership with the National Market Traders Federation (NMTF) and forms part of the nationwide Young Traders Market competition, which supports and celebrates the next generation of market traders across the UK.
Young traders aged 16 to 30 are invited to apply for a stall by emailing caroline.edmunds@newbury.gov.uk or calling Caroline on 07399 122964 or completing the form on our website https://www.newbury.gov.uk/services/markets/young-traders-market-2026/ .
The event provides an opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to test their business ideas, gain experience trading face-to-face with customers and promote their products to a wider audience.
The Young Traders Market initiative aims to encourage more young people to try market trading and develop their businesses, with participants competing locally for the chance to progress through regional rounds and ultimately the national final later in the year. Councillor Vaughan Miller, Chair of the Council’s Market Working Group said, “We are excited to be hosting a Young Traders Market in Newbury and to support the next generation of entrepreneurs. Markets have long been a starting point for many successful businesses, and this event gives young people a fantastic opportunity to showcase their ideas and talents.”
Young people aged 16–30 who run a small business, side hustle or creative venture are encouraged to apply for a stall. Spaces are limited and early applications are encouraged.
