TREE WORKS IN WASH COMMON COMMENCING 25TH JUNE

Commencing 25th June, Newbury Town Council will be undertaking essential tree works in the woodland between Wash Common Recreation Ground and Blossoms Field.

15 dead Scots Pine will be removed and fallen branches will be cleared from the recent high winds. The works are being undertaken due to the trees being at risk of windfall and could cause harm to public and property.

The Council will take care to analyse all trees being felled for nesting birds and some of the stumps will be left as 8ft totems to allow to degrade naturally and provide habitat for insects and other wildlife.
