VICTORIA PARK FAMILY DAY RETURNS FOR 2025!
Come and join the fun! Newbury Town Council is excited to host our Family Day in Victoria Park on Sunday 1 June once again, from 12 noon to 4pm.
The event will be officially opened at 12 noon by the Mayor of Newbury, Cllr David Harman, kicking off an afternoon packed with fun, entertainment, and community spirit for all ages. There’ll be classic family favourites like Punch & Judy shows, plus live music and performances on the Bandstand with Razzamataz Theatre School, the Town Band Watership Brass, and local group ‘Rude Not 2’.
Cllr Gary Norman, Leader of the Council, said, “We're excited to invite families back to Victoria Park for a fantastic day of fun, laughter, and free activities. There's something for everyone to enjoy in a safe, welcoming space—come along and make the most of a great day out in the heart of our community.”
Fancy a challenge? Try out our free climbing wall or dive into the mobile caving adventure — available all afternoon. Kennet Radio will be there all day, and there’ll be a Fire Engine and Police car on site for children to explore.
Come hungry! The 1st Newbury Scouts will be firing up the BBQ, and you’ll find ice cream, coffee, tea, speciality doughnuts, and delicious cakes to keep everyone fuelled. While the Community Café is undergoing a makeover later this year, we’re still making sure there’ll be refreshments, or you can bring a picnic.
Local group Rugby Tots will be there too — they run fun and energetic sessions for 2–7-year-olds, helping to build social and physical skills in a friendly, supportive environment.
The tennis courts will be looking fresh after their summer makeover, and our tennis coaches will be offering free taster sessions throughout the day.
Come chat with the National Tennis Association team about how to get involved. Fancy something more relaxed? Try your hand at Adventure Golf or drop by the Bowls Club to watch a match, meet the team, and learn how to join.
And of course, our children’s Splash Park will be open and freshly refurbished for summer. It will stay open daily from 10:30am–5:00pm right through to mid-September — perfect for sunny days. The Skatepark will be open for everyone to show off their skills, and don’t miss a go on our outdoor gym equipment.
Mark your calendar — Sunday 1 June — and bring your family, friends, and neighbours for a fantastic afternoon in Victoria Park!
