Newbury’s ‘Best Kept Allotment’ awards were presented at the Town Hall Chamber on Thursday evening.  The Mayor of Newbury, Cllr Gary Norman, together with the Chair of the Town Council’s Community Services Committee, Cllr Sarah Slack, presented awards to tenants who were judged to have kept the best allotment plots on each site

Victoria Park has once again been awarded ‘Green Flag’ status for 2022/23, recognised by the Green Flag Award Scheme as one of the very best in the world. The Town Council received the Award for Victoria Park for the first time in 2019.

Newbury Town Council’s fifth Climate Emergency Workshop took place on Saturday 1 October 2022 in Town Hall Chamber, Market Place. Around 50 people came along, making this the most well attended workshop since our first one in 2019.

Following the postponement of the Open Day in September, Newbury Town Hall is delighted to open its doors to the public to celebrate an Historical Open Day on Sunday 30^th October, 10am to 2pm, so that everyone can view the Council Chamber, The Civic Staircase, The Town Hall portraits, and other civic regalia.

The Newbury in Bloom 2022 campaign presentation evening took place at St Nicolas Church Hall on Friday 30 September with The Mayor of Newbury, Cllr Gary Norman, together with the sponsors, presenting the awards to the very deserving winners

Newbury Town Councillors recently visited 2 local charities who are doing amazing work to help residents in our community to deal with hardship and cost of living problems.

PKF Littlejohn, LLP, have completed their review of the Annual Governance & Accountability return (AGAR) for Newbury Town council for the year ended 31 March 2022.

The Town Council is consulting residents about the future use of the open space at Hutton Close. The consultation has been running since 1 September and already 170 responses have been received.  As part of the consultation process, the Council is holding an open Coffee Morning at the Town Hall on Saturday 8 October from 10am to 12 noon
