Suraiya Sheikh, who attends St Nicolas Junior School, is the winner of the Newbury Town Council Civic Awards Pin Badge Competition.
The competition was launched to find a winning design for a pin badge to be used as the award to recipients of the new Community Champions award category
Following the success of the wildflower meadow, which was planted at City Recreation Ground last year, a new wildflower area is being proposed for Victoria Park. The design will incorporate a wildflower strip along the bank that runs adjacent to Park Way.
Newbury Town Council is looking for an operator who will take on the lease of its new Community Café currently being considered for construction in Victoria Park, Newbury. The Council is hopeful of gaining Planning Permission this month.
Newbury Town Council have been maintaining Greenham House Gardens for over 20 years. It is a popular place for dog walkers and a perfect area for quiet relaxation. Newbury Town Council are looking at plans to enhance the area, which could include planting a wildflower area and installing a small goalmouth area for children.
