The Newbury in Bloom 2022 campaign presentation evening took place at St Nicolas Church Hall on Friday 30 September with The Mayor of Newbury, Cllr Gary Norman, together with the sponsors, presenting the awards to the very deserving winners

Newbury Town Councillors recently visited 2 local charities who are doing amazing work to help residents in our community to deal with hardship and cost of living problems.

PKF Littlejohn, LLP, have completed their review of the Annual Governance & Accountability return (AGAR) for Newbury Town council for the year ended 31 March 2022.

The Town Council is consulting residents about the future use of the open space at Hutton Close. The consultation has been running since 1 September and already 170 responses have been received.  As part of the consultation process, the Council is holding an open Coffee Morning at the Town Hall on Saturday 8 October from 10am to 12 noon

As a mark of respect, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, our Heritage Open Day planned for Saturday 17 September 2022 at the Town Hall in Newbury has been postponed. 

We hope to hold the event at a later date, details of which will be published in due course.

The Mayor of Newbury, Councillor Gary Norman wishes to express the deep sadness of this Council, Officers and the residents of Newbury at the death of Queen Elizabeth and offer condolences to the Royal Family.

West Berkshire residents aged 66 or over and who is on a low income (i.e. receiving Guaranteed State Pension Credit) and may be struggling to make ends meet on their basic outgoings can apply for new help with the cost of living from West Berkshire Council.
